Hi I'm Larissa, I'm 24.
I am wanting to travel to North America, not sure if I want to do a contiki tour or make up my own itinerary yet - I wouldn't be comfortable driving in a foreign country but I find my way around easily by public transport.
I really want to see New York maybe stay a week or 2 but am thinking of seeing other cities like Washington DC, Miami, Orlando, Los Angeles, Las Vegas annd maybe some others too. Wanting to make some friends to travel with as it will be safer than going solo.
Looking at going between July and September 2016.
I dont mind staying in 2 or 3 star hotels as I prefer to be out travelling rather than sitting around the hotel.
I love sightseeing, trying new things, learning about other cultures and looking at nature.
I do drink socially but I don't want to be out partying every single night.
I'd love to hear about your travels and suggestions on where to go
I am not sure what country you live in now ..... but public transportation is NOT like public transporation in other countries. For Example, I have taken the Grand Tour of Western Europe ... twice ... using the train system, which is very extensive in Western Europe. There are some cities that have MegaBus --- you should check into them .. Also, the USA is a lot bigger then many people from other countries realize. I had a friend who came over from Wales, and she wanted to go see Graceland ( Elvis Presley home) in Memphis in the Morning, then got to Disney World ( Orland, FL) in the afternoon by automobile ..... these 2 locations are about 800 miles apart .... it did not happen. Getting around New York city via public transport is pretty easy, but since Los Angeles is so spread out, using the bus sysem can take a long time to travel between points A to B. You haven't mentioned any cities in the Midwest of the USA --- Chicago, Minneapols-St.Paul, Kansas City, St. Louis ---- when traveling .... I usually fly into the Major City of that country ( because that's where the major airports are located) , then get out into the country --- less costs and you get to meet people who give you the real "flavor" of a country. How long do you plan to be traveling? That will limit what you will have the time to see in the USA. Take a look at our train system --- Amtrack ---- and our bus system --- that way you will get to see the country side and meet some fellow travelers ...
