The mountainous regions of Peru are best from April through October, with June through August being peak season. (And so personally I'd prefer May or September.)

Would it be more appropriate to go those 3 countries End December- Late March?

The weather is only one factor you should consider. If the only time you can go is 10 weeks during the mid-November to late March period; and Colombia, Ecuador and Peru are the countries you really want to visit, then go. The weather is, and has been, unpredictable in many regions of the world, including South America. Complicating this is a strong El Nino year.

Piecar is correct about Colombia. There are micro climates. My friends who live there tell me the weather varies with the region. Sander also is right about the mountainous regions of Peru. So pick and choose where you plan go. Do the research; and after you arrive, make adjustments as conditions warrant. Be flexible; be spontaneous; have options. You'll have a great experience.

One more thing. Money probably will be the major limiting factor of your trip. The more money you have, the longer you can be on the road. Health is the other. So keep healthy!

would may to to Mid July be more appropriate? or april-to mid June?

Okay. Then my opinion is that February/March is a pretty good time. It's quieter, which I prefer. You're coming into Semana Santa, and so there should be stuff happening. I would travel BEFORE Semana Santa because that's when people will be filling up the hotels in their own countries.

I agree with Berner. Stay flexible. If you can't get everywhere you want, don't call it a failure. Keep your ears open for things that sound more interesting than are on your itinerary....and visit Taganga, Colombia, if you can.

If I were traveling in that region, I'd choose April to mid-June. I always like traveling during that time. Easter next year is April 16. Figure out what's best for you.
