I've got six weeks in Spain. Not a lot, and the first time in fifteen years I bought a roundtrip ticket. I need to reduce my city count to make time for smaller places. my Death List... Madrid. SeVille. Malaga. Valencia. Which can I miss?

I know Sevilla and Malaga, and the choice between those two is extremely easy: cut Malaga. Still a very nice city, with the Alcazaba being lovely to explore, some really good restaurants, interesting harbour area, and a great Roman theater; but all of that pales next to Sevilla's Alcazar, Plaza de Espana, Jewish quarter, the nearby Roman village of Italica, etc, etc.

I have been to Madrid, Malaga and Seville, but not Valencia. Personally, of the three I can speak of, I would definitely go to Seville, and then if your aim is to see smaller and more individual places, go to Malaga over Madrid. I have nothing against Madrid, it is a great city, and has good places to eat etc, but has less to distinguish itself from other big cities. Malaga was a surprise to me, with a lovely Alcazaba, a number of good wine places (including a great little old wine place called Taberna Antigua Casa de Guardia), an interesting glass museum, and some varied places to eat.

I have also been to Madrid, Malaga and Seville but not Valencia. I loved all 3 of those cities; I went to Malaga only a few weeks ago and it was a pleasant surprise. It's a really attractive and buzzy city. I love Madrid and think it has a great vibe to it; Seville is a gorgeous city.

I was in Mallorca. Totally in love with it.

Thanks. I don't know that I'll get out there. I'm in country now and there are so many places to look at. Mallorca is famously wonderful, So I guess I'll have to make a second trip here in the future.

Yeah, sure. It's worth visiting. Sea is perfect. And I like the architecture. Hope to go there once more.
Last time we got very cheap ticket there - just for 5 Euro, so we went there - easy choice)
Good luck.

I'd leave Malaga out. I believe Madrid is a must see city, Seville has more to offer and Valencia is a very interesting place to visit, especially if you are interested in architecture or you like different sceneries.
