My name is Myriam and I live in Belgium.
I read about Travellerspoint in my today's local paper. I love travel boards, so I signed up immediately.
My husband and I travel as much as we can, although unfortunately we have to work most of the time to be able to pay for our travels. Knowing that most people are in the same position is cold comfort.
Our travels so far have been in Europe (we've seen most of it), a bit of Asia, some Caribbean islands and a few countries in the four quarters of our beloved Africa. Would love to see much and much more Africa.
I noticed that there's very little coverage on Belgium on this board. I hope I can contribute actively on this (and other) destination(s) and it'll be my pleasure to answer any questions you might have on our small country in the low lands.
Welcome to TP ....
Which part of Belgium are you in?
Hi Myriam! A warm welcome.
I have a small question. Why all quality chocolates come from Belgium? Personally im a fan of Leonidas
Thanks for the welcome.
@Wocca: I'm in the north of Belgium (province of Antwerp), almost on the Dutch border.
@Jared: that's a good question! To which, unfortunately, I don't have an answer. I do agree with you that they're the best, though!
Another WELCOME to TP!
Hope to see you around the forums!
Since Belgium isn't as well represented as other countries on TP, please consider becoming a Travel Helper for Belgium. And, for your beloved Africa. Travel Helpers are always needed!
Enjoy your future travels and hope to see you in the other forum!
If it is any consolation, we only have 2 weeks to travel per year ourselves.
I spent two whole days in Belgium a few years back - one day in Brussles and the other in Brugge. Loved them both, even with the October rains. Getting chocolate served with your hot choclate was an indulgent treat! Glad to have you here representing your beautiful country.
Welcome to TP!
Well, Isadora, I guess we may call ourselves very lucky then with 5 weeks (paid) leave annually.
Hello Myriam, welcome to TP! Nice to hear TP is being mentioned all over the world now...
