I just arrived in Cape Town and I'm travelling in Southern Africa for few months. Car rental could be pretty cheap here and a better option I think than the hop on/off bus so I'm looking for other travellers to share this cost and enjoy a more independent way of doing it.
There is no plan for places to visit nor time (I have some time obviously) but I would be interested in the following route all along the southern coast then up to drop the car in Johannesburg:
- Cape Town peninsula
- garden route
- some nice coast spots (surfing, bungee jump, parks, etc.)
- entering Lesotho on the East side for a nice side trip
- going west to Durban
- going up to Kruger
- finishing by Johannesburg and/or Pretoria
I don't know much obviously and I'm open to any suggestions.
I am planning to camp along the way to save some money, I'm a long time backpacker (2 years on the road already) so I'm a bit on a budget.
Let me know if interested.
Planning to leave Cape Town around mid February.
