Kashmir and Rajasthan are best places to visit. If you are going in October then Kerala is also great. I like Kerala as well.

Hello Patti1963,
India is the best place to visit in any month. However, October to March is the best time to visit here. North & South both places are perfect for traveling. In North India, Himachal, Rajasthan, Punjab, Delhi, etc, are the places of interest. While, in South India Kerala, Ooty, Goa, Chennai, etc are the perfect places for traveling.

[ Edit: Sorry, no promos please. ]

For me Northern India is beautiful, pleasant and the natural beauty is different from ours.
I suggest you visit Northern part. I would even recommend you to visit Pakistan as well.
The Northern Pakistan is awesome with no match. I lived there for some time when my dad was posted there for a short project. I think the Pakistan side Himalayas Range is more attractive then Indian side.
You must visit it.

Hi there,

November is a very good month to visit Rajasthan. I would recommend you to stay in one region of India as this is going to be your first trip to India.
India is a massive country and you save time and money sticking with one region of India. I am sure you are aware of camel fair in Pushkar in the first week of November and it continues for 10 days. People come from all over the world to experience rural culture of Rajasthan.

I recommend you a short itinerary below for your 10/12 days trip :

Day 1 Fly to Jaipur
Day 2 Jaipur
Day 3 Ranthambore national park ( tigers)
Day 5 Bundi
Day 6 Bundi
Day 7 Udaipur
Day 8 Udaipur
Day 9 Pushkar
Day 10 Agra
Day 11 Delhi fly back

Please do not hesitate to ask me any help you need regarding your trip to India.

Cheers!
Monty

Hii Patti.
India has a wide variety of places that will definitely make your trip memorable. And its all up-to your interest. If you want to spend some time in the laps of Himalayan peaks, North India is the best option. Places like Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand are perfect for spending some time with nature. And if you and your husband like beaches and want to party your brains out, I highly recomend to visit Goa. But at last its your choice which part you want to visit.
