Hi there taking an 8 week trip to north italy slovenia and istra of croatia in car dont want to book ahead is there an easy way to find farmstays besides tourist offices as I will be up in the mountains with only small villages or should I just look out for signs thanks everyone Sidonie
If you want to do some work on these farms, you could look at wwoof but I think you'd need to give notice as they wouldn't be wanting people turning up at a moment's notice.
Hi Peter not looking to work just accomodation as in agrotourismo farms there are thousands of them but hard to get a map with where they are
Have 2 websites in english but still hard to tell where they are
Hi doniegrey, I did a quick google for agriturismo and a couple of sites popped up. Catering to Italy mostly it seems, but maybe they are what you are looking for. Quite a lot of farmstays these days are also listed on vacation rental sites (airbnb, homeaway and the likes) so those might also be worth checking. Big downside of any online solution is that you need an internet connection and when you're driving around remote villages, that's not always possible.
What you're probably after is a physical book showing all of them. I know we used something like that in the UK for B&Bs and we'd just ring ahead on the day. Not sure if something like that exists for this. Hopefully someone else can recommend a solution.
Thanks Peter I have come to thensame conclusion maybe just have to get to a reasonably sized town with a tourist office and hope they can help
Thanks again donie
