I'm 23 and from the Cardiff, UK. I'm planning to do some solo travelling around Ethiopia from mid May to mid June and would like to have someone to do this with. I am pretty flexible as to where to go/what to see, as long as its an adventure and on a relatively sensible budget! The Simiens are also a possibility if there were enough people to share costs...Somaliland is also somewhere I would love to visit. I would like to stick to North/Northeastern Ethiopia, although I'm willing to be flexible to fit in with other travel plans if needs be. Feel free to get in touch! Cheers!
I'm wondering about the security situation in Ethiopia.
As an Australian it will be very difficult for me to get travel insurance as companies here are very reluctant or won't insure you if you are travelling to a country which has travel warnings
Here is an example of wording
We will not pay under any circumstances if:
A.15] Your claim arises from, or is associated with, travel to countries or parts of a country for which:
1 a]. an advice or warning has been released by the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade or any other government or official body, and..."
UK gov. has cautions for areas in and near Addis as well.
