Hi Guys,

I'm planning on going to Thailand for 10 days at the end of the year (probably the first 2 weeks of November) and try and see as much of the South as possible. (I know this isn't a long time but i've been fortunate enough to travel long term before and holidays are all I can manage right now!)
So I was thinking to fly into Bangkok and spent a couple of days here and then get a sleeper train to Surat Thani and spend 2 days in the Koh Sok national Park. From there go south to Krabi and spend 6 days exploring the islands - is it best to base ourselves in Krabi and do day trips to the islands or try and spend a couple of nights on different islands? And any recommendations on the best islands accessible from here?
Then fly back to Bangkok for 1 night and then home.
If you have any recommendations or ideas that would be great :)

to save time and for not much more money i would suggest flying from bangkok don mueng airport to surat thani, only 1 hour flight with airasia and normally very cheap. you could maybe fly to krabi from there and then back to bangkok. have a look on airasia website and check prices, will save your a lot of time considering the short time you are there

been to bangkok and 2 days was enough for me, not been to krabi yet but on my list

We agree, a sleeper train will take you a lot of time! Also better to check in skyscanner or directly in other SEA airlines companies like Nok air or Lion air to see each one offers the best price.
Recently we did a 101 days trip through Southeast Asia and we gathered some experiences and information about the countries we visit it! Feel free to check at -snip- to know more about it! ;-) happy travels!
