Just wondering if anybody here has any experience teaching English in South America? Thinking of doing a TEFL course before I go so that I can maybe prolong my trip there and make a little cash to travel some more. However Im not sure how realistic this is or how easy it is to get work there.
Any help/advice much appreciated!
Im interested in doing a similar things... Love to teach abroad! Especially in South America... Where are you thinking and when??
I'm heading to Rio at the end of September, will be travelling for 3 months and then hoping to settle and teach wherever I can get a job! From my online research it seems like the most teaching jobs are in Santiago but hoping to get more personal info from people who have been there and done that. I'm starting my 120 TEFL course next month, doing a weekend and then 100 hours online. What are your plans?
Sorry for the late reply!!!
Sounds great... I would love to go before Sept, thinking more June/July.
Id love to travel across from Rio, to the Amazon etc, and see where my nose takes me!
Obversely if I was going with someone, then i would defiantly work up a rough itinerary...
Have you booked your flights yet, accommodation?
For everyone thinking about teaching English via a TEFL in Central/South America (Brazil excepted) how is your Spanish?
