Has anyone done Manali to Leh Highway by motorbike?
I would love to do this this year in late June or July, maybe August. I'm on my own and to be honest I'm not very confident to ride around the world's highest highway by myself. What's gonna happen if the bike gets broken?
There's a lot of agencies arrange tours but I don't want to be in those tours.
So, suggestions, tips? Does anyone want to join me? I'm open to new plans
That road is well traveled by those on motor bike. Check out this video, one of many on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WazFtJSIHk&feature=youtu.be
A friend and I will be on that road, beginning June 18, traveling about two months in Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh and Jammu-Kashmir. Instead of motorbikes, we'll be in a four-wheel-drive vehicle, visiting the Nubra, Spiti and Zanskar valleys, where we plan to hike. We're in the process of getting inner line permits, as we will be near the India-China border. Were staying at some camps along the way. Since you're planning to be there during the peak season, it might be wise to make some advance arrangements, unless you're doing some camping on your own. Best of luck; and happy trails!
