I'm thinking of a year in OZ next year and of course its going to be hot. Just wondering what to wear for people who have not got a great figure. I just lost a lot of weight so the effects are not good if you know what i mean. Things are not so tight lol! anyway................ yea so bikinis are out of the question so what kind of things would you recommend. For example if i wanted to go swimming, snorkellig etc. I plan on wearing shorts! lol silly question but important to me!

You could wear a large loose t-shirt as well

How about a sarong for when you are walking around the beach or out and about? They are loose and can be adjusted for any size. Nice and cool too!

Long shorts are great for swimming and you can buy lycra vests if you dont want to show off your midriff.

I'm wondering if a wet suit, for snorkeling anyway, would be helpful to you? They're tight yet flexible, and may well "shape" you into the form of the suit. This is really speculation - it may well not give you the effect you're looking for... But you can always try one out before you leave, to see if you like it.

The sarong sounds good! They're so pretty, and you can adjust them as you like. They also sell those long, loose, sleeveless blazer-like things - like a button-up dress that you can wear over your shorts and t-shirt.

I have what is called a "dive skin" for snorkeling and diving. It is a full-body (feet to neck) lycra suit - like a wet suit, but much lighter weight and also "shape" you nicely, as Tina said.

I don't have the best body and have quite a large scar to hide, so I have found the lycra one-piece bathing suits to be great. They shape the midriff, are comfortable and flattering. Plain colors are the best - bold, bright prints usually end up eccentuating all the wrong things. throw a sarong over it at the waist or bodice and it will be great.

I also always take a couple over-sized shirts along -the button type - and loose-fitting tank tops for over shorts. I throw on the button shirts over my bathing suit, with shorts and tanks, and sun dresses. They are versatile and comfortable. They also "disquise" a multitude of "sins".

Congrats on the weight loss!!!!!! Not everything may be toned yet, but be proud of what you have done. No reason to hide something that is a great accomplishment! All that swimming and snorkeling will hsave you toned in no time!!

What about kaftans? You can get long ones or short ones, they're very summary and are in fashion too!

Yeah I was going to suggest kaftans!!!They are very in fashion now and you can get some really pretty ones embellished with sequins and beads and they are very flattering. Also if you try somewhere like marks and spencers they do the whole mix and match thing with the bikinis, like those "tankini" things, with the little shorts then the vest top type thing!Sarongs are def a great idea, you can even go swimming or whatever in them so your still covered up walking around the beach and stuff!!!!well done on the weight loss!

Wear what you want to wear, and what you find comfortable.

You should be congratulated for losing so much weight.

Hi,
Im in Oz and belive me, there are pleanty of ppl (including myself) who dont have great bodies and wear bikinis, but if ur not comfortable thats fine, lots of people here wear long boardies, they cover your thighs and are fashionable, you can also buy here what we call "tank-ini's" a single and board short combo that covers nicely and there made in all the same fashionable prints as bikinis. very popular.

hope that helps
