Issues with age and Eurial passes

Travel Forums Europe Issues with age and Eurial passes

My friend and I are looking to buying Eurail passes. I am 26 and she is 25. We are backpacking and trying to keep our expenses low. She has the ability to buy a youth pass which is in second class. It sounds like I'm being forced to buy an adult pass which is only in 1st class, which would mean we can't sit together. Are the age rules actually enforced? Could I buy a youth pass? How do I solve this problem? She is going to be staying a month and I'll be staying more than two. I'm going to France, Italy, Switzerland, and Germany. Do I need to look into buying individual passes? This is very stressful. Thank you so much for all you insight and help!
