We all know that football (soccer) is the most popular sport in the World. But of the 3 major USA sports (Baseball, Football (American), and Basketball) which is your favorite (to play or watch)?

Can't say i'm particularly keen on any of them, used to play basketball as a kid though. I think one thing that baffles most of us is that when a team in the US wins the national league - commentators generally describe them as world champions. Do they not realise the world is bigger than the US!!!! And do the supporters see their team as world champions because they win the league??

I've already posted a reply in the thread for non-Americans regarding US sport. Of the three sports that you mentioned in this thread, I see glimpses of basketball sometimes on television, but personally I'd rather play & watch volleyball (especially on the beach). We used to play baseball as kids at school. It was fun, but cricket tends to be the national summer sport in Australia and other British commonwealth countries.

I'm not from a soccer country so it's not the most popular form of football for me. Good to watch though in different parts of the world.

Yea I always noticed that too. I guess it just sounds better :) . I think the American fans got a bit of a wake-up call when the USA Olymipic basketball team lost so many games and didn't even win a Gold or Silver medal.

basketball!

The NBA is great for show, but I think the last Olympics and World Cups have showcased that it's not about show when it comes to playing internationally and that the rules are totally different

Still, give me the NBA any day

If you're an American (or like the sports mentioned), you definitely wouldn't miss out in the uk. NBA and NFL games are shown every week, usually live. Baseball is shown live in the early hours on one of the channels as well, you might have to have a few late nights to catch the action live though.

Is the Packers the team where the whole town shuts down to fill out the stadium, and sit in freezing temperatures to watch the game??

I like the Olympic versions of the games more than the franchise versions. They seem more intense.
