For the rest of us, if someone cancels a flight nearly four months before it's taken, then there is every chance that seat will be resold on a busy route in high season so it it is sheer greed for them not to refund at least part of the money. They have taken my money and are providing no service for it.

Do the right thing and let them get away with it? You seem to support their sheer greed which is little more than legalised theft.

I would actually cancel the booking anyway as you should be entitled to the taxes back from the airline. I cancelled a cheap flight to Sofia in June and got £6.50 tax back - it's a small amount but I figured it might as well be in my pocket than anyone else's!

About a hundred euros of my money and who cares. Two euros of your own money and I have no doubt you'd be screaming blue murder.

£6.50 back? I would not bother going through that hassle. I will happily know that seat will be empty rather than claim that pittance back.

As long as you let companies like this get away with treating their customers badly, they will continue to do so. Ryanair has had to shut O'Leary up because he was bad for business.
