[quote=Sam I Am]It's actually being held in a lot of different cities in Germany, although you could be right about the final being in Munich.
You're right it's all over Germany, but the final is going to be in Berlin and even I as a local will probably have to watch it on a big screen in a beer garden. There have been lots of discussions going on about the ticket sale in Germany the past weeks and I'm sorry not to have any positive news It looks like that mostly officials or sponsors will actually get to see the games in the stadiums.
If you come to the Worldcup anyway make sure you book your accomodation well in advance, I have already numerous friends asking a year before if they could come and stay with me.
(Thinking about subleding my appartment, skip the worldcup and go travelling with the money)
I'm not a huge follower of football, but my cousin's fiance definitely is big on the sport. My girlfriend and I met them both in Madrid a few weeks back and they were telling us about the whole ticket lottery process. They had no luck with some of the earlier lotteries but were in the running for two more that would end that week. Sure enough they were lucky enough to score two tickets to the Munich game. Even cooler is that it's the same day as his birthday, not a bad gift at all. As for the ticket prices, I can't remember exactly how much my cousin said but I think around $200US each...but I could be wrong.
I'm going to the World Cup. It's going to be my last stop on my year round the world.
Me and my mate have tickets for 2 games so far. Not that expensive, less than 100 quid each for the two games.
First ticket sales phase is over, second one is in progress but you can only get TST during this phase (can explain if people don't know what this is). There will be 2 more phases, one lottery (same as the first one) and one first come first served.
In the first phase we applied for 7 games and got 2. Not bad really.
