I have, but my question is has anyone seen or stayed into the hotel called "Villa Roma" it's half block off the strip, accross the strip from the Stardust

I will be staying there with 2-3 friends from Saturday May 7th - Tuesday May 10th

I'd like an experienced persons advice on the place and location rather than the hotel itselfs biased info

thanks a lot. zach

The stardust is sound end of the strip. Never heard of your hotel though. Half a block from the strip is not a hop and a skip away! Especially in the vegas heat! No worries though, cab ride is a cheap ride.

I would consider the Star Dust more the North End of the strip. The South End of the strip would be the MGM Grand / NYNY, etc.

As for the walk - I stayed at the Hilton before. The walk to the strip is probably about 5 minutes from Hilton to the strip. The Villa Roma appears to sit between the Hilton and the strip, so it's not too bad a walk.

The problem, of course, is once you get to the strip, it's a LONG way between hotels. The walk from your hotel to the MGM Grand, for instance, is probably a good 30 minutes.

Cabs are cheap and plentiful. Also check out shuttle buses between hotels. They are usually only a couple of bucks. The new monorail is supposed to be open now to - I haven't been since it opened, so can't provide details.

Not the greatest map, but gives you some ideas of where things are.

Yeah..Greg is right. It's on the north end. I stayed at NY, got it mixed up. My bad. Greg is right on all accounts! The rail is active though. It runs till 1am.

Just a note--the problem that people used to have with problems walking up and down the strip has been solved a bit by the new monorail that just opened up. If you only plan on going up and down the strip once or twice the cost is not too bad.

Just look for Las Vegas Monorail on your browser for details.
