Trying to find volunteer and job opportunities on each Hawaiian island for island hoping endeavour. Hoping to make it as much of a learning experience as I can get! Open to any suggestions!

Regardless of where you're from, you should be aware that it will be very difficult to finance island hopping, much less living in Hawaii, either with volunteering, or even if you landed a paying job. I was born in Hawaii; have a home and family there; and visit frequently from Atlanta, where I also live.

The cost of living in Hawaii is the highest of the 50 states. See this link:

Homelessness is a major problem:

Late at night, into the wee hours of the morning, you can see the homeless on Bishop Street, in the heart of the downtown Honolulu business district. By morning, they're gone. You'll see the homeless traveling on TheBus from Ala Moana Center to Makaha on the Waianae Coast. Why? Because they can sleep on air-conditioned buses that run 24 hours. It's the only bus route that operates 'round-the-clock.

Many of Hawaii's young people leave the Islands for the Mainland; and never return, except for visits with family and friends. One reason: They couldn't possibly afford to buy a house or condo, much less rent one:

Hawaii still is great place to visit; but getting enough money to live there isn't. Just wanted you to be aware of that. Best of luck!
