Batik Air is owned by Lion Air, Indonesia's largest private airline. Lion also owns Wings Air, which I've flown several times. Lion Air and Batik Air were removed from the EU's blacklist in June. See this link:

Starting from where?

If you mean from Singapore to Bangkok or vice versa I have used Thai Air and Singapore Airlines in the past.

Air Asia is popular.

From Singapore to Thailand there is rail service too.

December is high season for hotel availability and for prices. Highest price Thailand will be close to Christmas and New Years holidays.

Then go with the better airlines.

Lion Airlines is one of the cheapest.. they all do the same thing, service might be a little less but who cares when you pay less?

honestly speaking, a budget airline like airasia etc is good enough for travelling from singapore to thailand as the trip take only 1-2 hours time;)

Thank you for that info, @berner256!

When using cheapo airlines always check out the weight allowance for carry on and check in bags. If your bags are overweight you might have to pay extra.

Good luck.
