Travel Forums System Talk Photo loss of resolution

Hi,
It seems to me something has changed in photos treatment.
I recently upload a new batch of photos and there is a loss of resolution which appears only for portrait orientation.
For landscape orientation, it is still very nice, but for portrait orientation, the quality is becoming poor.
I have to add I was now obliged to rotate the photos and that's new. Don't know if there is any link.

Question to Peter: Do you confirm there is new photo process or is it my imagination?
Alain

Hi Alain,

There isn't a new process. I recall this happening before though with rotating photos. Obviously the best is not to have to rotate them at all. What's interesting is also that it is not auto-rotating your photos. I wonder if there is some new metadata property that will indicate whether it needs to be rotated.

Thanks Peter,
So I think the problem is coming from my side. There is probably something new with the metadata as I bought a new camera.
I must find the way to present my pictures with correct orientation and avoid to rotate them through TP.

Well, I think something has changed on your side to all of a sudden encounter this. But I also think the rotating should probably still be detected on our side. Maybe you can send me one of your original photos that is having this problem so I can do some testing with it. I'll send you a PM.
