Has anyone any experience of touring around Jordan in late October?
We have a week's break, and would like to combine about a week of touring the major sites (Amman, Petra, Wadi Rum, Dead Sea) with a few days of snorkelling in Aqaba.
I have researched the air and water temperatures in Aqaba (about 26 and 24 degrees respectively), which seem pretty comfortable. Has anyone been there at that time of year who can give feedback?
Linked to this, does anyone have recommendations for a package that does good and cost-competitive packages to Jordan?

Hello Harbinger
For a week time you will have the chance to visit the most significant places in Jordan.
My suggestion for you would be something like this:
Day 1 - arrival and if time allows explore some of Amman - overnight stay Amman
Day 2 - visit Jerash and Ajloun - overnight stay Amman or Madaba
Day 3 - drive the Kings Highway and make stops at many places like Wadi Mujib, Karak, Dana and Shobak - overnight stay Petra
Day 4 - visit Petra - overnight stay Petra
Day 5 - visit Wadi Rum - overnight stay Wadi Rum
Day 6 - drive the Dead Sea highway and make a stops at the Dead Sea and Mount Nebo (great for sunset) - overnight stay Madaba
Day 7 - departure
Now this could be modified based on your preferences and interest.

For such itinerary, it’s better to have it organized through renting a car and drive yourself, or put yourself in the hand of professional driver.
Feel free to ask for any more details.
