Is there a way to get from a Travel Planner trip that has been planned (stops added)- hotels etc and make it go into Add A Trip without doing the stops etc all over again??

The trips in the Planner are the exact same ones as the ones in the Map view. You should see the trip in both without having to do anything. Am I misunderstanding the question though?

I understand the mapping (I think), but I want to turn the Planner trip into a blog where I write about what happened and post photos that I gook while on that trip. How did I do that? There doesn't seem to be a place to write anything.

There isn't a specific way to turn a trip into a blog. You just have to start a new blog. You can then inside that blog embed any map you like and add photos to the blog. To embed maps in blog entries, you can use the little globe icon in the toolbar. Hope that helps clarify things.

OK - so the trip planner is separate from the blogs and I don't need to fill that out unless I want to use it to keep track of the dates.

Creating a trip in The trip planner automatically creates a map & creating a map automatically creates a trip plan .. adding dates is optional but if you do & you have a blog that you have added a date in the 'describes travel from', the system will add a link to that map at the top of your blog. See the example in my blog http://hasbeen.travellerspoint.com/492/

Yes, they are separate. You can use the generated map in your blogs and there is some automatic linking that goes on if you have a map, but one does not require the other.
