I try not put anything valuable in the suitcase that I would miss if it got loss, but I have to admit that it is a curious idea. However even knowing where it is doesn't mean the airline will do anything to return it for you. I once left something on a United plane and despite a staff member telling me where it had been sent to and contacting that place they just refused to send it to me. Luckily it wasn't something I would miss but I still think it was strange that they'd send it to some lost and found facility but when I try to claim it they wouldn't send it back.

I wouldn't bother .. the gizmo would be worth more than my luggage. Might be an idea for parents to attach one to their kids though.

We certainly could have used it for our son when he was tiny. He was lightning fast and disappeared with great regularity. We always found him sitting on a counter or chair someplace eating an ice cream or enjoying forbidden chewing gum. If you have a 2-year-old, it sounds like a great bargain.

I think GPS tracking your luggage can be useful since other people might take your luggage by mistake.

I'd say get a GPS, no harm in trying, might be useful also if you use a GPS tracker with phone application for easy use.
