galis has indicated that this thread is about USA

Hi everyone
Do you know, is there some possibility to cross the country from west to east with lended car? I mean when someone is moving and want to take his car to the new home, so he let someone to do it. So we would pay just for gas. If you know something about it could you please let me know? Because me and my friend plan to do it from west ot east in September and we are not US citizens.

it's extremely unlikely that somebody would lend you their car to drive coast to coast. but it's possible, i guess. i would suggest posting your request on for the city you are starting out from. (each city has it's own subsection ont site, so if u are travelling from San Fran, u would post in the San Fran section, if from LA, in the LA section .....)
Renting a car, driving it cross country and dropping it off at your destination is definitely possible.

You'll be referring to what they call here as 'driveaways' coast to coast shipping (or vehical shipping) done by volunteers who get the car and just pay the gas.

Sorry about the links, but am still having trouble getting that URL thing to work. Does it actually work????

Psst, Ade...

Just highlight the word or words in your copy you want to use to create the link. Then click the URL button, found above the list when you type your reply. Then copy the Web adress into the field.

And - voila! Instant link!

I don't remember how it was arranged, but a long tome ago, I was in West Palm Beach, Florida and my car was in PA. My Mom went through some company, paid some money, and someone drove the car down and delivered it right to me. So i guess that match people who want to drive a car somewhere, with a person who needs there car delivered to them. In my case, I had flown down to Florida, then decided to stay for a few months, and wanted my car there.
