Quoting barkelu

Does anyone know of a brand that does slighter bigger ones?
Basically I'm after one that I'll be able to fit my lappy in (dimensions 15' x 11 1/2' x 1 1/2' - yes I know, I could only find an old tape measure hence inches!)

I have no problem whatsoever fitting my laptop (specification says: 332 mm x 34 mm x 284 mm / 13.07" x 1.34" x 11.18") into the daypack of my MacPac Gemini. I'm trying to envision it five centimeter longer, and I think that should still fit without any hardship.

'course that doesn't hold when attached to the big bag, but then, I've found that I never travel with the daypack attached. Just for balancing weight alone you'd already want to walk with that on your chest.

uhm... I'd say, bring your laptop with you to the stores, and try it out. :D

i consider myself a bit lucky because my dad works for the police on surveillance and he gets anything from cotswold totally FREE, ive got 4 brand new travel packs at home to try out

im going with the Berghaus Shadow though purely because i think Berghaus is the most tried and tested

Hmm...this thrad seems to be all about Berghaus and MacPac.

I use a Haglöfs Sec 75 backpack and I´ve been really happy with it. It doesn´t have a daybag attached, but it´s very comfy and it has a huge easy-access lid on the front. Also it´s obviously divided into two compartments and comes with a nice raincover.

It might be that it´s only available in the nordic countries, but you can try to ask for it in other places too.

Yeah, I was just wondering, I do think Haglöfs backpacks are only available in Scandinavia (or maybe even just Sweden and Finland)! Unfortunately, for you other guys!!! ;)
Because that'a really great backpack. All Swedes have them (I don't though, but as you probably have figured out I'm not a normal Swede :() - that's the easiest way to instantly recognize Swedish people abroad!

Heya

It seems all those travellers' packs you recommend have their daypack on their back.
I remember (or did I dream) seing a few with the daypack on top/bottom, which would help avoid the balance issue mentionned above.
