LOL!!!! I've been awake for 30 minutes and had so many laughs already thanks to you Jeffrey!!! It's going to be a great day.

No I'm not tough. Just too big for my britches.

I did the exact same thing! my nose broke for it....did I learn my lesson? No...I always root for the underdog, and HAVE to stick up for people who can't OR won't stick up for themselves...

Just last week I was waiting for a parking space just outside a protest I was reporting on. The space was big enough for me to go in front-first, and this guy came speeding down the street backwards and tried to back into the space as I was going into it. He got super pissed off, got out of his car and started hitting the side of the car I was in (company car, with my employer's logo all over it) and began to yell "Go home you BEEPing anglo BEEP." I was rather calm because I showed him my cell phone with 911 dialed on it and said all I have to do was press send, but he kept on hitting the car....harder and I backed out and gave him the space. Luckily, since there was a protest going on, there were police everywhere. There was actually a cop car four cars away from what happened to me. The cop got out and started speaking to him....and when the guy saw me again, he started swearing at me.....needless to say, I stayed close to the police at all times when I was there.

[quote=Travel100]I meant to say "that somehow I have a feeling that you may be the only girl posting in this thread."

Thought I join the girls here, though my story isn't really about a stalker. But it perfectly fits "that wasn't such a good idea..."

I was in Alice Springs/Australia a year ago and after a trip to Ayers Rock I really wanted to leave Alice heading towards Darwin. I had put up several posts for a lift, but nobody had answered yet. In the afternoon I went back to town to check for more, when this guy takes down my post from the board. I told him, I was still looking for a lift and he said he was leaving to Darwin in 2 hours. I just wanted to get away so I agreed on going with him...
He seemed to be a nice bloke, but then he turns out to be a quite creepy and strange person. He didn't harm me in any way, but he would have his first beer (and many afterwards) an hour after we had left and in the middle of the night ask me to drive the van while he was smoking dope. We didn't stop over for more than getting fuel and after 12 hours (of me thinking will I survive this) we arrived in Darwin (I have been told it's usually a 16 hour drive or you stay somewhere on the way). I'm now definetely more careful with lifts offered!!!

Maybe guys are just too tough and proud to admit they have done something stupid;)!

It takes a BRAVE person to admit to doing something rash or foolish;)

.... Then he got up, ripped a telephone out of the wall and hit me in the face with it (that hurt). The good news is ...

Travel, ow. You got to love the feeling of being hit in the face with a telephone ... I sympathize...

I have a few stories about fights and unwise things that I've been involved with or in. I'm a pacifist so I do not have stories about where I hit this jacka** and then he bleh bleh. I've never so much as punched my good ol' buddy on the upper arm. . .

One day, while out walking behind the campground on Sunshine Coast, west coast of British Columbia (it takes 2 ferries to cross over to it, even though it is on the mainland, wierdly enuf) I was invited to a private party in the boonies, the 'sticks' as such, and up for some gin 'n juice. It wasn't tonic. Pineapple punch, as a matter of fact. So one guy and I split the last of the Bombay Saphire and then his girlfriend comes back from the airport or wherever, with some chic from Surrey, and the dog. Anyway, suddenly there is a fight that breaks out, frist between the jealous girlfriend (god only knows why ) and him. She splashes gin and juice all over him. It nearly gets on me. I back up the porch steps. Then, out of the air, these two guys just start wrestling each other to the dirt and lawn. I ended up leaving afterwards, just a little tipsy and not too lost, either.
