Hey everyone :)

I was wondering if someone could offer me some advice.

Myself and my best friend intend on backpacking in Australia for 4-6 months, starting in December and returning in April (unless we can secure an extension).

We have our work visas, which we bought back in April this year. I believe that visa will expire in April 2018.

I was wondering if it's possible to extend our visas, as life has gotten in the way, and we have been unable to leave and begin our journey at our originally planned date.

As it currently stands, we will only be able to work for 4 months, as we cannot leave for AUS until December.

Also, I was wondering if there are any website where I can secure employment, prior to leaving my current job.

I am worried that I will be unable to secure a job when I begin my journey, and will be unable to continue paying my ongoing bills back home in the UK.

Thanks for your time :)

Assuming you're talking about Working Holiday Visas (subclass 417), they won't expire in April 2018, but one year from when you first enter Australia, so based on your current plan, that'd be December 2018. The April 2018 date is relevant, in that you need to have entered Australia by then (one year after the visa having been approved), but the year of validity on the visa only starts when you enter the country.

Enjoy your trip! :)

For jobs you could try the Aussie version of Seek at https://www.seek.com.au/
