Mapping not working

Travel Forums System Talk Mapping not working

I think I have about 97% of my VT photos mapped. But several times when I have been working on them, the map refused to locate the photo. That is, I would type a location into the box and no matching location would come up. Even when I put a large location like the USA, I wouldn't get any kind of pin that I could move around, or lat/lon

It happened again last night about midnight EDT (which is about 4 hours behind GMT so it would be 4 am GMT).

This happened to me yesterday (with a location I had used previously without a problem) but I logged out and in again and it was sorted. Maybe there was a glitch?

It has happened to me twice - usually late EDT. Each time I just went and did something else and the next day it was OK. I explained it to myself by saying that the newly mapped photos were 'full' and couldn't take anymore.

Hmm, this sounds like it was hitting quota limits with Google Maps. But logging into their interface it doesn't look like that's the case. Please let me know if this continues to happen!

It's happened twice - both times late at night our time (EDT - 5 hours from GMT)

It has not happened again, but I finally got all my photos mapped so it should not be that much of a problem anymore

Question - If I delete a photo (which I started doing more of as I got down to the last 900 photos) what happens to the tip that was associated with it?

Nothing happens to the tip that was stored. Though the tip won't have that photo anymore if you want it down the track.

Worth noting that the import of tips from VT only included the first photo associated with each, so if the photo in question wasn't the first it wouldn't be there anyway, deleted or not!

Most of the time, the first photo would have been the best one so probably not the one to delete unless there was no good photo for that tip.
