I'd have to say Durian Fruit, as we discussed in this thread: The Lucky Durian.

Durian Fruit is a very smelly fruit. I tried it during a tour of a spice farm on the Island of Zanzibar. It's white inside and very soft, almost like a soft white cheese. I took a blob and ate it. It actually was relatively tasty. However, it made my pee smell bad for two days!

Greg

For two days?! Is that a jungle durian? The thorns of jungle durians are usually very long and thin, as compared to orchard durians.

From my experience, if I eat A LOT at night, the smell will usually go away by the next morning, or noon the latest.

Anyway, I believe the reason why the smell stuck with your pee for so long is most probably because you didn't drink enough water for the two days to flush it away from your body.

An advice from Hien: Always drink lots of water after eating durians.

An advice from isadora: Don't drink lots of alcohol before/with durians - can cause bloating.

Or as the story was told to us by Hien (which neither he nor we could find evidence supporting the theory): Your stomach will explode!

Apart from being a vegetarian which isn't always easy when you're travelling I found it really strange how people happily eat insects on sticks or other bugs in Asia. Friends got me into trying this little worm, the only way I could eat it was swallow it straight down never again!

CUCUMBERS or PICKLES - Yuck. I wish McDonalds would stop putting those slices in their ham burgers.

Have you got the Wendy's fast food chain in Ireland? If so, you can request no pickles before they put your burger together. (I know - not much help!)

You can ask them not to put them on...

The worst thing I have eaten is spoilt shark. It's supposed to be spoilt, it's an Icelandic tradition. The only good thing about it is that the tradition calls for the shark to be eaten with a shot of "black death" alcohol.

The bleeding heart of a tuna fish I just caught.. it's tradition :)

Also I tried the half grown baby chicken in a soft boiled egg in the philippines. That was NOT something I'd like to have again.

Testicles and brains on the other hand are actually quite tasty and remarkable similar in texture - is there a metaphor in that? I dare say so!

Pete, Pete, Pete. The reason they are so similar is because if you have one, you usually don't have the other.....;)

I saw a thing on Discovery Channel where some Chinese people were eating fried tarantulas.

They were really large; the size of a clenched fish and were all crispy and piled high on a plate.
