Deep Fried Chickens feet

I also tried chicken's feet....not a fan! Luckily, they had this red sauce all over them so the taste was masked.

i've eaten fried scorpions, locusts and some other bug type thing in Thailand - really crunchy, really salty and really horrible!!

I never tried it, but as some know from another thread, i did see Hens Testicles in Oyster Sauce on a menu in a restaurant just around the corner from the American War Crimes Museum (i think it has a more politically correct name now) in Saigon. So for Hien - hens do have testicles, because the Viets sell them!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, you people are either brave or crazy or both! Except for the pickles and cucumbers I'd never eat any of the stuff I read about on here. Fried scorpions, i don't think so.

When I travel now, I'm a pretty conservative eater. I used to be more adventursome. My first time in India I got pretty sick, the Dr. said I had "3 types of worms" from "wayside eating". My priority now for eating when I travel is to survive and not get sick. No need for me to test ALL the local cuisine.

roast pork - that made me sick for 3 days in Canada - my first time sick on the go! -really nasty, puking up till 4am one monday morning and then spent the next too days in bed getting some energy back!

Roast pork? It's DELICIOUS!!! A Chinese delicacy.

I believe the roast pork you ate must have turned bad or contaminated already.

Ok, maybe the hens in Vietnam have testicles.
But I'm very sure Hien does have two!!!

Snake soup in Yangshuo.
The chef came to the table and asked if we wanted to watch him kill the snake that was dangling from his hand literally shitting itself.
Poor bugger......he tasted bloody awful aswell.

Try live widgety grubs, luverly grub....

I guess those were more weird than worst foods.

I remember a friend who bought a chicken burger from a well known fried chicken chain. He took it back complaining that he had specifically asked for no mayonnaise. The person behind the counter said that there was no mayo on it. It was only when he opened up the burger that it became apparent that he had in fact bitten into and burst a giant cyst that had been growing on the chicken. Now that takes some beating.

Doubt this actually happened - it's a VERY famous urban myth. The processing of chicken burgers (I'm a veggy so yuk!!) means that anything like a cyst or tumour would have been ground out. Check the link....
