Recently I had a discussion with a friend who thinks it was stupid of me to get a tattoo while I was travelling in a foreign country. Of course it was a rather spontaneous decision, but I think it's a beautiful memory and I really love having it!
What's other people's opinion about this? Who else got tattooed while travelling and for what reasons?

I wanna get one too!!
Problem is, i only wanna get one to firstly disagree with my parents as its a sort of "rebel" thing to do!
Who knows what of, but it would be well cool, good on you though!

Hey Steff,

What kind of tattoo did you get? What and where?

Thanks cc for pointing out the other threads to me, found it really interesting to read them;).
To answer the question about my tattoo:
My best friend designed it for me during our travels in New Zealand. I got it on my right shoulder blade and it's rather feminine and small (don't have a clue what size it would be in inches, why can't we have a universal measurement?),
It's plain black and looks like a mixture of the letter S, a sea horse and a Maori tribal. Can you imagine?

Do you have a picture of it that you could post in your gallery?
(I would love to see it!)
:)

Sounds cool Steff. By the way, (2.54cm = 1 inch). The metric system makes so much more sense! We seem to do everything different over here. Inches, Feet, Miles, Quarts, Gallons, etc..

Hey you UK people out there, did we get all this from you guys? Are you guys metric or feet and miles?

You mean you use the old British Imperial measurements rather than metric?

I got really drunk and went over to this guy in the street in Langmusi, china and asked for a tatoo. Luckily some people i was travelling with grabbed me away!
This guy was using a hammer and needle dipped in ink......from somewhere.

Gonna get one though after summer, i'll take a photo of it all the tatooists i've told about it say it's a great design and they've never seen it done ;)

Every few years they make a push in the U.S. to convert to metric. It only makes sense! My majors were science based, so I had to learn them.
They are so much easier than our out-dated system. But everytime-without fail, people freak out and won't give up the system...:(
