I am travelling alone and arriving in Cuba on May 20. I am looking to book soem accomodation there, but all the booking sites tell me that I have to boko the whole room, which has a double bed in it, and pay for two people!!
Does anyone have a way around this? Maybe places I can stay and pay for only one person? Or is anyone else arriving in Cuba around that time maybe?

look into renting a house, you can usually find one from 100-150$ week
Is that with private accomadation, or a hotel? I'm going with two mates aroound about the 26th...
Hi Paul, unless you can find a dorm bed somewhere, that is indeed quite normal. The point being that, unlike dorm rooms, double rooms are charged at a room rate, not a per person rate. The only other option is the very rare single bed room in a hotel - well I never seem to see it offered at least. Even so, it's unlikely to be half the price of a double, though most likely slightly cheaper at least.
Hmm that is bad news... It´s really gonna be that expensive then?
I haven´t booked anything yet. I was gonna stay in Havana for just a few days, then move around the island, probably to Vinales (west), Trinidad, Santa Clara (east) and whatever else may come on my path. What are your plans, Anon?
dont really know... want to see the whole island but dont if we'll have time. problem lies in that one of us wants to see the east most and i dont want to miss the west... got three to four weeks though... still ahve to book flights and get visa's..... i consider it a work in progress... you?
Well like I said, May 20 - June 5, I´ll probably visit the island from the far west to the middle, so I don´t think I will be going all the way east. In three to four weeks, i think you mat be able to see it all though.
Well let me know when your plans are a bitmore definite. Maybe we can meet up there for a few days.
