Question 3: Can you fly to europe and then get a train to anywhere you want in europe. I seen inter-rail. Can you just get a train from say, Paris to Spain?

Hi redrabbit,

it's really easy to get around Europe nowadays. We have plenty of low cost airlines (Easy Jet/Air Berlin/Ryan Air) which make life a lot easier and travelling a lot quicker.
Sure it is more scenic to go by train. There's one leaving from Paris to San Sebastian/Basque Country in Spain (maybe even Barcelona). Interrail would be an option. You can travel around several countries for a fixed price, but you're also limited to those and have to keep in mind it is taking you a while to get from one place to the other.
As far as air faires, if you already know where and when you want to go to a certain country you might be best off booking now.
If you decide to visit Berlin just let me know and I can give you more information.

Enjoy your trip!

Steff

Thanks for your reply.

I seen a flight from Paris to Amsterdam with Ryan air for only £15!!! obviously without tax but that is SO cheap. I plan to head off with just ideas, so i can just decide whilst walking around one day that i want to go somewhere and just jump on a plane.

I'll have to check out Air Berlin, i've never really seen them much.

The train journey is definetly something i would consider. I would like to buy just a 1 Zone ticket maybe to travel up and down Italy. Also would like to take a trip to a young tourist destination where there are lots of nightclubs and things. Maybe ibiza, as it is very historical too

Thanks for your reply.

Hey redrabbit,

You could get a train ticket from Paris to Barcelona for not too bad of a price. Seeing that you have an interrail pass. The Spanish rail are not too expensive travelling locally after that. They're slower, although.

I do not recommend taking a train out of Paris usually, though.

I'm not sure if i understand you but, i don't have any rail passes yet. All i have is a flight ticket to paris.

How many hours is it likely to take to get from say:
Paris - Barcelona or
Paris - prague.

If i could buy a train ticket it may be a lot cheaper than hoping around on flights all the time.

I've also been advised that the greek islands are pretty cool. Any input on this?
