Hope that you are all well.
I work for a small software startup company and we have been working on a service which will be of benefit to travellers around the world and help them to stay in touch.
We will be providing this service free of charge for the lifetime of the service as we believe that it will aid everyone that goes travelling. We do not see a reason as to why we should charge users for such a service when a main part of travelling is to keep unnecessary costs down, in order to have more to spend on things to do and see.
Anyway, we are in need of some people to carry on testing this service over the next few weeks.
I can ensure you that we are a legitimate company and you will not be spammed by either email, text message, phone call etc. If you wish to leave the trial at any time, simply email me and we will remove you from our list.
If you require more details and are happy to assist in finalising this service, I would be very happy to hear from you. I will tell you full details of the service, what you need to do and how this service will benefit you. Our company is also registered with the Data Protection Act; all details or information you pass to us will not be used for any other use.
At present we have tested the service from the following countries :
Australia, Netherlands, Malaysia, Mauritius, New Zealand, UK
If you can help test this service in a different country or even carry out further tests from any of these countries it will be greatly appreciated.
(if you are the first person to test from a new country, your name will appear on our websites Hall of Fame).
In order to help test the service, you will need to send a text message from any mobile phone registered to any network (UK or non UK registered, pay monthly or pay as you go).
If you are interested then please email me at :
Many thanks for your time, and i look forward to hearing from you.
[ Edit: Sorry, no email addresses please... I'll allow the promotion for now but generally this type of Spam is not appreciated.... ]
Sounds like a lot of blabla to me.... why don't you just up and say what exactly the product is???
Is it Amway or Tupperware?
"Service" could mean anything from cheap flights to street hustling... jeez...
This reminds me of the catch-all "solutions" sell. "We don't sell insurance, we sell solutions! We don't sell central vaccuum cleaners, we sell solutions!" Bulls*** - you sell central vaccuum cleaners!
Getting off soapbox now...
Yeah, but look - if you use it first - you get to be on the website's Hall of Fame! Just gives you butterflies doesn't it?! And, in hoping we are all well - does that mean people who are ill can't use the service?? So many questions - so little interest...
Referring back to my original post, I am providing a service that can be run from any mobile telephone. I was only asking if anyone would be interested in carrying out some further tests. I am not selling anything, not tupperware, amway, or vacuum cleaners.
I also do not need to get off my soapbox. We only have patented half of the service at the moment and are filing the other half tomorrow. Once this has been done, I can fully explain the service (with our legal rights covered). I would have explained fully in reply to your email expressing interest.
I admit, in hindsight, I was probably wrong to post this message until i could explain more about the service as I can fully understand people being sceptical.
I will try to reach some potential testers via a different method as it seems that this isn't the place to do it here.
Many thanks for everyones time.
PS. I wasn't saying that people who werent well can't use the service either. Next time I will remember not to greet a new forum in a polite manner.
I think generally you'll find that forums are not the best type of place to 'promote' products and services. Although you might feel you are not doing anything wrong and offer a really valuable service, the same could be said for any number of carrental, insurance, flight businesses/websites etc, especially when you are looking through the eyes of the owner. That's why any posts like this across any of the more visited forums are referred to as spam (ie. unsolicited promotion) and are generally not permitted because if you don't draw the line as strict as possible it's impossible to draw it anywhere else. Also, it's especially suspicious when it is a first time post... you'll have noticed that everyone that replied has notched a fair share of posts in this forum and they are familiar with the forum rules.
If you have something you'd like the help of Travellerspoint members with to test, we generally aren't that bad of a bunch and I am sure you could work out something Just let the TP moderators know in advance and we can probably work something out. PM me or use the Contact link at the bottom of the page and we'll take it from there
Many thanks Sam,
I will contact you via private message.
If you want to remove this post from the forum - then by all means do.
