I've never used them, but someone booked their insurance with them just a few days ago.

Have you checked out world nomads (underwritten by Mondial - one of the world's biggest insurers)? We did a comparison on world nomads vs. the bookhostels/hostelworld one a while back. Depending on what you are after, either of these might be something for you. I know Pete's bought the World Nomads one before.

I've got insurance with insure and go, as they had the best coverage for the best price when i was looking, although so far i haven;t had to claim for anything, so i wouldn;t know yet if theres likely to be problems there - although aren't all insurance companies the same when it comes to making a claim?!

yes thanks ive had a look on here already and been talking to pete about it.

i noticed that about insureandgo to and the whole package for the price seems fantastic.
i guess with insurance companies most people only tell you the bad points.

I was thinking about insurance&go too, I had an annual multi trip insurance with them for my snowboarding holiday, I didn't have to claim though but it was cheap and the cover comprehensive.

Ive been reading what they cover you for.its £15,000 for legal expenses and as much as you pray you wont need to use it would that be enough in the usa.
For 8 months which takes me up till when i come home for xmas including usa ive been quoted £161.47
And then we go off again and for 12 months not including usa its £204.82 but that doesnt include the skiing cover for when we go to chile.Although they do a 2 week ski insurance for about £50.

The cover is:

Cancellation £2,000
Curtailment £2,000
Medical Expenses £3,000,000
Repartriation £3,000,000
Delayed Baggage £150
Mugging Benefit £400
Holiday Abandonment £2,000
Hijack £500
Missed Departure £1,000
Personal Accident £15,000
Personal Liability £2,000,000
Catastrophe Cover £500
Legal Expenses £15,000
Personal Effects £1,000
Personal Money £200

Just thought id tell you i purchased insure and go cover for my trip...i had my camera and about £80 robbed on a bus in thailand so had to make a claim when i got back. I got a cheque in the post to cover my claim last week. My friend also had to claim for medical expenses and she got all of that back as well.

If they are still the cheapest quote i would use them again.

Happy travels.
