Yesterday was such a beautiful day in Montreal, I decided to grab a beer (or 6) out on a patio. I wondered up the street from my hotel to the corner of Prince Arthur and Parc to the patio at Coasters. Across the street was the Renaissance Marriott, where I spent 3 months in the winter of 2002 when I was last in Montreal for work. I was shocked to see that it is no longer a hotel and is now a UNIVERSITY RESIDENCE for McGill!?!?! What's up with that? That was my home!
Hey, blame the university for putting it there. Students have to go wherever they are put. Trust me, we rarely get a choice.
That's a pretty swanky place for a bunch of university students. Although we are talking about McGill, I suppose.
Wow, that does suck. I bet that you were quite shocked. Did you share a beer with them?
Actually, yes, I did have a beer with some McGill folks, but actually profs, not students. I had a table with four seats, so a couple of others came and grabbed the other seats.
Nothing like having a beer (or martini) to cry away our sorrows...
