Hi we are heading up to Manaus and from there want to do a trip into the Amazon. There seem to be hundreds of options from basic camping to luxery jungle lodges. I was wondering if any of you have done trips from Manaus and can recommend any good / bad agencies ? Any information would be great ! Cheers !

We're sure you will enjoy the Amazon! It's a lifetime experience.

Re accomodation it's a jungle and so do not think you will be getting a luxury hotel in a jungle. We were there last year and and we stayed in the Ariu towers which according to many are the best lodges in the Amazon.

Standard accomodation in these lodges is very cheap with no hot water and not even a window and not worth the money paid. But after we had complained we were given the Tarzan's Presidential lodge and we can say it was really great though still not luxurious as described everywhere.

Having said that the jungle and the Nature around you will make all these thins secondary!

Not sure but shouldn't you experience the jungle as it is. If you want luxury you are better off staying home in my opinion.
