I thank you in advance for any information..:-)
Dang it! Wrong post...If you go to Travel Forums, then type in "working holiday" and hit search...there are tons of posts on the subject!
Hey!Im studying fashion at University so have spent a lot of my free time during holidays working within the industry both here in London and abroad!I dont know what type of work you are looking for but if its design ect you would be looking at placements and internships which Im sure you know are renowned for being voluntary!!!!I have spent time working over in New York for a designer, which although was unpaid, was benficial for my studies, helped me make great contacts for when I graduate, job offers....I got involved in all aspects of the buisness and they really helped me get the most out of my time in NY!!!I got to help out mainly in the design area as that is where Im focussed but I also got to learn a lot do do with the marketing, PR, sourcing, sampling, commercial side of things as well as being involved throughout New York Fashion Week, which was amazing as I got a lot of free tickets to other designer shows ect!!!Im going back out there in 12 days (not that Im counting!!!!)to work for the same designer coz i loved it so much and Im really excited!!!!!So Id definatley reccomend New York for spending holidays/working in!Paris is also amazing, I went on a month long placement over there also a couple of years back which was incredible! There are hundreds of ateliers and studios over there which are happy to take on interns and students over the summer, likewise with Barcelona!A friend just spent a year working with a designer in Milan which was actually paid and she loves it!!!!
If youre more interested in the commerical side, there are sooooooo many PR companies, Freelance stylists.......in London and I think London is an amazing place as far as fashion is concerned as well as being so much fun in the summer!!!!!Its all the kinda thing that you have to arrange yourself really, and you really need to prior to going over there! In Paris and New York, they prefer a 2 stage interview system for interns but if you are enquiring internationally they make exceptions!Be quick tho as with summer fastly appoaching most of the big companies and designers are full up!Give me a message if you need any help with anything, as I have a book with loads of contacts internationally that I was given at University!Good Luck!
