emmy: I like Copenhagen (in August when it gets dark very late) and I really like Madrid (any month but August unless you like to sweat). Den Hague is a nice day trip from Amsterdam and Brussels is a nice city if you enjoy good food and drink (and chocolate).
I enjoyed Prague (Cracow will be an alternative) - both packed with tourists summer time.
I almost went to Prague and realized my long-time dream, while now, it is still a city that I dream of. How I wish I could be there when I`m still young.
I know it's not a capital, but Barcelona is definately not one to be missed.
Agree! Barcelona is so impressive! I`ve listed it as one of my favorites.
Rome - definately one of my favourites, so much to see
Brussels - Best Beer in the world.. Cafe Lop Lop!
Salzburg - not a capital, but a beautiful city.
Copenhagen - Tivoli Gardens at night are wonderful, Carlsberg brewery tour is a goodie too.
my list (prioritized):
4) Tallinn and Riga
9) Ankara (Angora, Turkey)
Sorry for the ones I didnt mention - its just my opinion.
Btw - i have visited all above. But not in one year..
My fav's are:
Copenhagen very beautiful in the summer.
Madrid great vibe.
Brussels very cool and shappy chic.
Vienna just lovely!
Sounds like a good idea - all of the above cities are great for long weekends.
The place ive been recommending to family and friends after being there last year is def Budapest. Is a beautiful city and plenty to see and do, whether on a budget or splurging. Warsaw is nice, but Krakow is better. Madrid is nice, but i think Barcelona is better. Ljubljana is another really nice and up and coming captial of eastern europe.
