Lawmakers have a place in the doctor/patient relationship? Some guy sitting in an office who doesn't know anything about me/my case is going to make decisions for me/MY body/MY life?
Yeah, I believe Hitler tired that once...

Rape and incest rubbish? You do live in a bubble don't you? 1 in 4 women will be sexually assulted in their lifetime, obviously you have (so far) been one of the lucky ones.

I would never condon abortion as a form of birth control, but NO birth control is 100% effective (before you say celibacy, wake up and smell the coffee) But it is an option and it should remain a legal one.

I have children and I got pregnant when I was a very young teenager, obviously I didn't choose abortion, but some right-wing extreamists shouldn't be able to tell me what to do, because they think they know better.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but don't shove yours down my throat.

On that note, let's try and agree to disagree here. It's going to do no-one any favours to start calling people names. An intelligent discussion is always welcome though :) Even better would be to try and get this thread back on topic

Hey what's gone on here - I have been away for a couple of days and this thread has suddenly caused load of controversy!

Everyone has there own thoughts, ideas and beliefs. We each have are own beliefs and well if someone disagrees then they disagree, so what it's what they believe in.

So lets not fall out and argue - and get back onto the subject matter of this post instead.

Lil J - I am on the pill. The pill i find is good for me, because i start it and take one a day for 21 days, then on the 22nd day i have 7 days off of the pill, and during those 7 days my period will begin.
Usually after a day or so and lasts about 4-5 days (and is not heavy at all, although some months can be). Then i start over again.

Sounds to me like you better move to a better neighbourhood.

I live in a very nice neighborhood... Thank you very much. Or are you possibly suggesting that only people in bad neighborhoods are raped/assulted?

Welcome to China!
I lived in China for 22 years and can help with information about sightseeing, getting around and useful Chinese. ;)

But, people are sheep...

So anyone who doesn't agree with your ignorant comments are branded sheeps?

The sooner they reverse that decision the better. It's the right of a woman to keep her legs closed if she's concerned with getting pregnant. Once she becomes pregnant, her rights have to be shared with her unborn child.

Well, I saw I have also missed quite a bit over the past few hours. And, since it was my comment that fueled this controversy, I feel I must weight in...

We all have the "right" to disagree about everything. No, I do not feel that people who disagree with my comments (ignorant or otherwise) are sheep. Nor do I feel that people who disagree with my opinions and decisions are sheep. It is obvious that I chose my words unwisely, but that is one of the foibles of being human. You do have the right to live your life as you choose to do so - as do I and every other person. If yours works for you - great. I do suggest that if you wish to continue this discussion/debate - then the Off Topic forum is the appropriate place.

To Hayley (who started this thread), I apologize that we moved so far off the original discussion - which does tend to happen at times. It was not my intention to spark the responses that followed.

Hay-glad you posted this-i went to the doctors and he prescribed something to stop periods for when i go away next week-but i dont want to take it so i'm not-haha!

I was saying to him about stopping periods for when i go away for a month but he didnt seem keen on this saying that you shouldnt stop fro that long blah, blah, know the score-perhaps i shouldnt have been so honest eh!

So does the pill-when taken constantly, stop them altogether??

if it does with everyone then this is what i plan to do!

Hey Jas!

You can take the pill continually and have your periods be suspended. You may experience a day or two of minor break-through bleeding during the week you would normally (be on the placebos) and have your period. But, that occurance is quite rare. The only recommendation is that when you return home, you remain of the same routine you were following prior to your travels.

The "long term use" (continual use) option was discussed on the first page of this thread and I listed two links to help explain the process. Click the link below to find them. They will be in post #7.

(Just can't picture the guys having conversations like this;))

Well, we don't bleed for days on end without dying ;)

What would we discuss, the consistancy of our baby butter? , we have no pills to take generally, although there is a male pill now isnt there?

seriously speaking though, its known that men generally aren't good communicators as the whole male bravado thing actually leads to being very insular about all feelings and problems instead of discussing with friends.
