Hi there,

I have roughly a week to travel in China. Its very much up in the air, I could go just about anywhere equidistant from Shanghai and Guangzhou. Anyone have any ideas for places to go/ iterinary/ transportation?

Thanks a bunch.

Where are your plane flights landing/leaving from?

A Week isn't much. China takes a lifetime. ;) That said....

There is always the big spots. Beijing, Shanghai, Guanzhou, Hong Kong, SiChuan, Yunnan. It all depends what you want to see.

History: Beijing, Nanjing, Shanghai can be done in a week. If you rush, run and take overnight trains.

Natural Beauty with Culture: Yunnan is beautiful, was there last year. You have everything from Snow capped mountains to tropical rainforests. 1 week may be rushing it unless you are willing to fly all over the place (rugged mountainous terrain). Even then there are quaint little villages that you won't be able to visit.

Another place is SiChuan, with Chengdu and JiuZhaiGou & HuangLong (water pools with beautiful colors, with majestic mountains as backdrop).

So what do you want to see?

Big spots?

Beijing , Shanghai , Yunnan, etc...

but I'd prefer big city, i heard that Shanghai is the biggest city in China, with a quick construstion development.

and the biggest airport in China, the 2nd is PEK beijing airport, and the 3rd is Guangzhou airport

Yunnan isn't particularly big, size&people-wise, although it is popular. If you are looking for big places, you should probably also consider Hong Kong. Certainly much more awe-inspiring than Shanghai.
