I dont feel the need to purchase maps online. Internet has enough information about travelling already and few quite good free sites that have detailed maps of the world for free. And maps printed out at home most of the time doesnt compete with 'real' maps purchased at stores or tourist information places, quality- and detail wise.

Travel guide books usually have maps in them. Such books are usually available in everyday bookstores

Maps can also be easily obtained at tourist information centres in cities all over the world. These maps are usually up to date with the latest landmarks and changes, which is something that maps from the Internet can't always guarantee.
