I am planning to go to Thailand and will surely get there around 4th/5th July... Once in Bangkok (first stop), I have no real plans, except that I want to stay over there (Thailand-Vietnam-Cambodia-who knows...) for a few months.
Don't mind doing things on my own but if ANYONE is willing to meet up over there then send me a message...
I would also appreciate suggestions on what should not be missed in Thailand and Vietnam...
Thanks for yout time,
After spending a month in Thailand - i fell in love with it.
Top destinations not to miss - Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Phuket.
I'd fly to = very cheap to Phuket if you're clever, by Bangkok Air.
In Samui - Chaweng is the busy touristy beach (but still nice - i spent 2 weeks there) Lamai beach is a bit more relaxed though.
In Koh Phangan, try to search for Full Moon Party Thailand on the net.
Phuket - Patong Beach is party/sleaze central, Kata and Charon beaches are quieter (Charon is beautiful, and more geared for tourists). Kata is very cheap, but doesn't have much shopping etc.
I will be in Thailand on Sept 2nd for a fewdays and possibly go to Cambodia. Please let me know your plans.
See my post here for my itinerary:
As for recommendations, I thought Krabi was fantastic. Not party central, but quite lively. More importantly for me, though, was it was very beautiful, clean and not yet overrun by tourists.
