My friend and i are going to LA in June for just under a month. We will be based in Santa Monica. Could you please suggest a few 'must see' places to visit and interesting things to do. We don't drive so is it easy enough to get about by public transport? We would be interested in taking trips to surrounding cities and possible up to San Fran. Also does anyone know if we can still go to nightclubs, as long as we don't drink, since we are under 21 I've heard that you can get a stamp on your hand, so that you can't get served, but can still get in.
You really need a car !!! Really, really do.
You will not be able to get to the places that are really neat to see if you do not have one.
There's a subway there.....but we never even saw where it was.
You really need a car. GO TO NBC STUDIOS for sure...get tickets to see Jay Leno NOW....ahead of time. Can't get them at the door.
Go to the FARMER'S MARKET around the corner from CBS....do a CBS tour. Forget Universal..it's mostly theme park.
Do a TOUR.....it picks you up on SUNSET BLVD OF LA and Stars Homes...also HOLLYWOOD BOWL.
Do the MANN'S CHINESE THEATHER....that's where the star walk is.
There's a thousand things to do.....but there's a few. I was out there last year and again in the summer in San Fran. DO Pier 39 in SAN FRAN and CHINA TOWN.
Hope this helps a little. Driving is NOT HARD OUT THERE.
