This summer I will be renting a car and driving from Los Angeles to Yosemite. Approximately how long should I figure that will take?

I will then be driving from Yosemite to San Francisco/Marin County area. Any guesses as to how long that will take?

Thanks in advance!

LA to Yosemite is approx 295 miles and 5 hours 10 mins continuous driving. Yosemite to San Francisco is approx 208 miles and 4 hours continuous driving.

True that it's 295 miles from LA to Yosemite and in really should only take about 5 hours. However, just want to warn you that the traffic in LA can be horrible at certain times of day - usually between 6:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. and again from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. during the weekdays. Fridays are especially bad becase many people are traveling out of town on Friday. I have known people to leave at 1 p.m. on Friday for Yosemite and have it taken them 7 or 8 hours. . . .especially in the summer.

Just something else to consider in your planning. . .
