Eccles feels confused, & puts it down to not being a native English speaker.

He has introduced a different question in another thread, which could merit much more attention in a thread of its own. So ...

What are your friends like?

What are your friends like?

I am very particular of who I am friends with...They must have a wicked sense of humor, more intelligence than you can shake a stick at, and be able to put up with me. The circle is small (because really so few can put up with me)..... but we are a fun bunch;)

Hey Wocca, that's a good way to avoid answering a question, must remember that one.

I only have a few friends, but these are people I really trust. There are few enough people who can put up with me and they tend to be similarly mad like me.

I think what you put in is what you get out.

BTW: I am not James nor Stiller. I am just a confused little man.

There's this boring but true saying, friends are those people who are still friends with you after getting to know you better;)!

Or after you ran out of money.

I was going to say "friends are the people you'd travel with", but then quickly realized I have one friend who is always fantastically late (I'm an early bird), another who likes to sleep in, another who prefers shopping over walking the city... so, scratch that.

I'd say my friends are a combination of funny, silly, honest, cranky, caring, generous, supportive, and a bit crazy. They also tell it like it is - which can take you off guard sometimes, but is a very admirable trait. I have lots of get-togetehr-now-and-then frieds, but just a handful of really good ones. They're the ones I don't find myself looking at my watch with.

I love that one Steff!
Friends are people who know you inside and out...but still like you anyway;)

OOh! Reminds me of a personal bugaboo along those lines:

Real friends know that being bombarded with e-mail jokes is no replacement for a genuine e-mail.

Grrr....
