....What are the can't-miss places in Oz?

They can be anything from touristy to known for their natural beauty...where should someone consider going if they were to travel to Australia?

Cheers,
Katie ;)

Where would you recommend seeing the Reef? It's a loooooooong one, anywhere you would suggest?

hi katie,

i love cairns- the surrounding areas are so beautiful- cape tribulation, daintree rainforest, kuranda (take the train up to a little mountain town and come back down in a cable car- just stunning!). it's also a fairly good place to base your great barrier reef adventures from- most larger tours tend to leave from either cairns or port douglas about an hour and a half north.

feel free to message me if you have any questions about australia,

cheers,

Hey Katie,

I stayed in Cairns, and took trips from there out onto the reef. It usually took around an hour and half or so to get out to the "outer-reef." You can take trips to different parts of the reef that are near Cairns. One trip featured the area that had lots of Giant Clams, another day went to another area of the reef, etc..

I also really enjoyed my time in Cairns. And if you like exotic cultures you can arrange a trip to Papua New Guinea from Cairns. That's what I did, hung out in Cairns, checked out the reef, and arranged my trip to PNG.
