Well Works getting desperatly boring it looks like I'm gonna have a very long summer, due to manegment shuffles at work not many people know what we are going to be doing in september. The sun in oz couldn't come soon enough. The good thing that it pushes the fealings of uncertainty away about travelling and builds the excitement.

I must say it's nice to know I'm not the only one crazy enough to be doing this!

My plans are getting more and more problematic real supply agencies in New Zealand so can't see me doing any teaching! I am major league worried now about making my choice but not a lot I can do about it so will have to just go abroad and panic even more then!!

It seems funny that when you talk to people about the fact that your going to go off and travel, that it seems to bring out stories from people about them missing the opportunity for one reason or another.
And it seems one of a lot of people's biggest regrets not going.
I've had countless colleagues over the last couple of weeks all tell me about when they were younger and were about to go and changed there minds through partners or becoming pregnant. And one thing there always stress to me at the end is that I should do it " do it while your still young and don't look back"
I think a lot of people are in positions of work where in reality they could have time away and if need be could return to home and find a job again on a similar scale if not only to travel again. So the reasons for going definitely seem to stack up, it's just for us to reap the rewards.

It take some guts to do what your doing Chris, but it is easier for you to leave things now than as you say when your tied up in morgages and such.
I think too that friends will all ways be friends no matter where you are .
I ve had some of the best times with my close friends when I or there have been away somewhere and we have travelled to meet up.
I hope you really enjoy your time and get alot out of it.

I'm putting together my own website eventually stating as my own, travel log and story, based on the packing in leaving to go travelling so if any one has ideas or stories then message me and get in touch.

Thats true! everyone says " Do it while you are young?!" Everyone who is in my career of management, people in positions I would like to reach all say they wish they had of done it! so if my dream here isn't as exciting as I had thought, why not go away! I would rather regret something I have done, than not have done!

I was chatting to my mate who lived in Brisbane for a year! He said he was bit twice by red back spiders, caught in a rip current, involved in a head on collision, mugged and came face to face with a deadly snake! talk about putting me off, then he said it was the best experience he has ever had in his life and keeps saying it will be the "making of me!" Infact he wants to head out with us again!:)

Im just going to feel the fear and do it anyway!:)

"Someone should tell us right at the start of our lives, that we are dying. Then we might live life to the limit everyday.DO IT!!! I say. Whatever you want to do DO IT NOW! There are only so many tomorrows!!!"

It sounds Sean like you friend has had all the things that the books warn people could happen to a person in Oz all in one go. Most people will have no problems at all and not even see a snake.
It's funny though that even when things do go wrong that it still makes for a memorable trip and becomes part of the whole experience. And being bit by a spider in oz is much more of a story than being bitten by a garden spider here or off some local thug in a night club.
