I was just thinking - how amazing is it being European!! There are so many amazing places to visit that arent too far away and we can travel all over the whole place without any bother with visas etc!

I am going to Oz for a year soon but i am def going to make an effort to see more of europe when i get back! Since last Nov I have managed to get mega cheap trips to Cologne, Dusseldorf, Stockholm and Brussels!

Some people have to travel for ages to see it all but we have so much of it practically on our doorstep!!

Yea, you guys are definitely lucky! I used to live on the West coast of the US and it was mega-long & mega-expensive just to get to Europe.

And with Easy jet and the like, you are really lucky. I've seen London-Oslo fares for 1/euro! And they were actually available, i booked one just to see and it went right to the part where I had to give my credit card (good point for me to stop since I was 3000/miles form London). Of course, it was a little more with the taxes, but what a great opportunity to be able to get to other countries quickly and cheaply.

What places in Europe would you most like to visit???

Yeah, Europe has some great cities. But in my opinion it would be much nicer (I could enjoy it much more) when prices were as low as in Asia....... At the airport in Madrid I had a locker for my luggage (I slept on the airport) for as much as a double room with TV in India.......

Yea, I agree, Europe has gotten really expensive! I guess when the Euro took over for the Gilder and other local currency, things got more expensive. Also in the Netherlands I paid over $6.00 for a gallon of gas, that would only cost $2.00 here (and you should hear the people complaining here about paying $2.00/gallon).

Plus the dollar is really weak against the Euro these days :(

That's what we need in Europe: Asia prices and San Diego weather!

I am definately envious of Europeans! Maybe the grass is greener on the other side of the fence, but Europe seems to have alot of things that other countries (ie: Canada) may never have...
for example, such a variety in culture and traditions, the large number of different languages, and the fact that if you drive for 6 hours straight, you might have possibly gone through several different countries.
i'm not complaining about canada, but i am just recognizing the good things about european countries... ;)
