Do you know which one is a better beach? Are there any ones better than both in the vicinity? I will be in DC for next weekend and am looking for a beach to go to in driving distance of 4 hours!

Thanks All

Ive never been to Va Beach--but know the mid-atlantic beaches (MD and DE). From south to north, the beaches are ocean city (MD), Fenwick (DE), Bethany (DE), Dewey (DE), and Rehoboth (DE). All are about a 10 min drive from each other and all are about 2.5-3 hrs from dc. OCean city is a big hwy city that is the dirtiest. the de beaches are smaller towns (though not too small--rehoboth the biggest). Dewey is the place for partying with lots of 20 and 30 somethingners walking around bombed at all hrs--though this is the case also in OC. bethany is more family oriented. fenwick is too small. rehoboth is more "open" ("not that there is anything wrong with that"). the water is still pretty cold.

I would go to Virginia beach, less crowded in my opinion and clean. A lot of stuff to do there as well.

I would agree with Dynamite's opinion.

Virginia Beach hands down. Ocean city is a boardwalk with rides and the like and a dirty beach jammed with tourists during the high season. Va Beach has more variety and more activities. Both will be crowded, but Ocean city is not a good time unless a) you are a family of 4 on a budget or b) 14 years old.

I ended up going to OC, and I completely agree with Daver141.. OC could have been great fun if I was still in highschool..
